Works on the go at WPS

A very successful Education Week was celebrated recently with a Parents and Grandparents Day at the school, where maths activities and a picnic lunch were thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended.

Wahgunyah Primary is now preparing for major building works at the school with the first item installed being a brand new school sign, complete with a noticeboard to keep the community informed of up and coming events at the school. The sign has been made to reflect the school uniform colours in a heritage design and states both the school number and the year the school was established.

Preparations have also commenced at the school for a new administration block to be built allowing the school to have a much needed multipurpose room to house the interactive whiteboard that is currently, a mobile unit. The students were a little sad to see the old shelter shed dismantled to make way for the new building as it housed the students’ school bags, but will be replaced with a new bag room once the building is finished. Funds for the project have been made available through the Investing in Schools Program from the Federal Government and will indeed enhance the schools mix of the old with the new architecture.
