This year Wahgunyah Primary School will be competing against 70 other schools across the state in the RACV Energy Breakthrough challenge. The event is held in Maryborough from the 22nd to the 26th of November and attracts in excess of 15,000 people to the town to watch and compete in the various activities.
Our team is the Wahgunyah Wipeouts. We will be competing in the pushcart section. To be successful at the event we will have to complete three different types of races including an obstacle course, a relay race and an endurance event. Our entry will also be judged on a presentation about the design and construction of the cart which will be made before a panel of judges. We will also have to prove we understand the operation of our cart by pulling it apart and putting it back together within a certain time limit.
To be a successful team in Energy Breakthrough you have to start early and our efforts began in Term 2.
